Our Saints

Across the centuries the Carmelite Order has produced some of the
greatest Christian saints, poets, mystics and philosophers such as
Teresa of Jesus (Avila), John of the Cross, and Thérèse of Lisieux.
These three are Doctors of the Church.

In the twentieth century, the Carmelite Family bore witness to the
Christian Gospel in the martyrdoms of Titus Brandsma, Edith Stein
and Isidore Bakanja. In 1965 St Thomas More was adopted as one of our patrons.
